Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry
heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My
yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am
humble and gentle at heart, and you will find
rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear,
and the burden I give you is light.
Life has it's highs and lows for all of us. Strangely it seems that very few
people are naturally capable of really coping with the general adversities that
life deals to us. Most of us try to put on the "happy face" but deep down inside
the loss of a close friend or loved one is almost more than we are able to
handle. The stats on substance abuse scream out peoples inability to cope.
Often the pain we bare is self inflicted. We can have major problems just trying
to understand ourselves. Many live out their whole lives wishing they were
someone else. It's tuff for people to grow up understanding that they were
unwanted children or never feeling that you're good enough to please others.
There are so many areas of life that seem to demand more of us than we're
capable of giving.
Maybe you're someone who is feeling really burdened down with life. I'd like
you to hear the heart of God for you. He is not putting you down. He doesn't
put anyone down! What He does do is invite you to come to Him. He
welcomes everyone and anyone to come to Him. He's the One who has made
you and He understands human limitation.
The greatest human limitation all of us have is to make ourselves acceptable to
God. Isa. 64:6 - We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our
righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our
iniquities, like the wind, take us away. One of the heavies burdens we can
carry is the inner consciousness not being in a right relationship with Almighty
God. And with that comes an inner awareness that nothing we do can ever
correct the past failures in life. Well God has made perfect and complete
provision for all our human weakness and limitations. God sent his only Son,
Jesus Christ to do for us what we could never do for ourselves. Jesus has
made it possible for all of us to be brought into a right relationship with the Lord.
It's possible for you to know that God has forgiven and cleansed you from
all former sin. It's possible for you to know that you have been received into the
spiritual family of God, to realize that God is your Heavenly Father and that you
are His child. It's possible for you to know on a daily basis that God is with you,
that he will help you and that He will equip you and see you through the most
difficult situations that life can through at you. Jn.6:37 -…whoever comes to me
I will never cast out.
