Scripture quotes are from the New Living Translation (NLT)
of the Holy Bible published by Tyndale Publishing House
When you're in love there's no sence of demand on your time. When there's true love there's a desire to share and be together. God's love has been proven through the Lord Jesus Christ. God didn't have to come in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, suffer bleed and die for your sins, He wanted to because He loves you. Now He wants you to understand Him more intimately. He desires friendship with you. He desires that together you will build an on going relationship with Him, a relationship that you love and enjoy. There's no short cuts to building relationship with the Lord nor is there any limitations. God is wide open to you and is prepared to share the depths of His heart with you. For this to be realized will require your time and dedication. If you want a close and personal realationship with the Lord Jesus Christ it's available to you.

I can not over emphasize the value and importance of daily Bible reading and prayer! We call it a spiritual devotional time while it should be understood to be a time of intimate and personal fellowship with the Lord. Simply put, prayer is talking with the Lord and Bible reading is God talking to us. This time alone with the Lord will need to be protected. The more valuable you believe it to be the greater diligence will be exerted in maintaining it.
Don't be surprised if the enemy of your soul makes it seem aukward and even unrealistic to be a discipled devotional reader of God's Word. He'll try his best to see to it that you just don't seem to be able to find the time. You'll need to take charge here and simply chose to make the time. You'll never grow anbd mature without it! You need God's Word. Mathew. 4:4 - But Jesus told Him, "No! The Scriptures say, 'People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" The "new person" created in your heart by the power of God is dependant on God's Word for spiritual growth. There's such a thing as spiritual starvation. In the physical realm it's your habit to eat three meals a day in order to maintain typical growth and health. Now apply this concept to the spiritual realm.

This Bible Reading Schedule has been formulated with the New Believer in mind.
It consists of Scriptures from the New Testament the Psalms and Proverbs. It is important that in the future you incorporate the complete Old Testament into your daily Bible reading schedule. There are a number of these schedules available.
There are a few very good reasons why a disciplined Bible reading schedule profits your new spiritual life. One of these has to do with increasing your faith (the spiritual ability to believe God). You will become more aware of it's importance as you continue to grow. Without faith it's impossible to please to please God (Hebrews 11:6) and that we want to do therefore we need to learn qickly how to tapp into source of genuine faith. Rom 10:17 - So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. As you give yourself to Bible reading God gives Himself to increasing faith within you.
God's Word is His love letter to you
The Word of God is spiritual food for the "new life" in you.
The Word of God is the Source of growing faith
The Bible is the only Source of genuine truth about God
Pre-salvation life is one spent in disobedience to God (sin). Most of that life style is due to ignorance of God's ways, a blindness placed upon the human heart by the powers of darkness. New Life in Christ consists of having been spiritually removed from the kingdom of darkness and placed into the Kingdom of Light. Our purpose now is to show our gratitude to God through lifestyle obedience to His Word. In order for us to obey we require accurate information about God and His ways. We need to know what he expectes of us and how that is to bwe accomplished. We require knowledge of God's Word so that we can properly obey Him and accurately represent the Lord Jesus Christ on earth.
God's Word is a spiritual Sword to cut away the lies of the enemy
The powers of darkness have not changed their tactics over the years. They still introduce thoughts which directly or indirectly challenge God's Word. Sin was first introduced into the human race with the use of these word's "Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?" (Gen.3;1) If you are to live a life of obedience to God's Word you must know what it says. The only way to know what pleases the Lord is to know His Book, the BIble. Don't allow yourself to be deceived by the devil through your ignorance of God's Word. I can't emphasize this enough. Knowing God's Word is a must! Read it and reread it often! Ps 119:104,105 - Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. 105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
