Introduction
The Jehovah {LORD with all capital letters} in the Old Testament is the long awaited Messiah who was revealed and manifest to Israel as Jesus the Christ. He came to His own people yet they rejected Him, and had Him crucified. However, He did not stay in the grave but rose on the third day testifying to the fact that He was and is the Messiah, the Christ, the Jehovah of the Old Testament.
Careful consideration of the Scriptures reveals that the LORD of the Old Testament is in fact the Jesus of the New Testament. The God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament.
Jehovah or LORD means the "Self Existent One who reveals Himself".
The ultimate revelation of Jehovah is found in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. When the first Jewish disciples received Jesus Christ as Lord they where receiving Him as the Old Testament LORD or Jehovah.
Yes Jesus was a man, born of the house and lineage of King David. He is known is Scripture as the Son of Man yet at the same time He is known in Scripture as the Son of God.
Rom 1:1-4 - Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, 3 concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, 4 who was declared the Son of God
with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to
the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord, (NASV)
Over the years I have personally been greatly blessed with the Study of Jesus, His name and His person. What a mighty Savior! What a mighty God! What I've managed to put together here isn't even scratching the surface but I hope you are blessed by it.
