Since the creation of the world change is one of the things that hasn't changed. History reveals that there are times when change and transfer seem quite sudden. Things change very quickly. Presently we're experiencing one of those times. Globally so much is happening so quickly. We're experiencing natural catastrophes (earthquakes, tsunamis, famines) There are various wars and potential wars and we're heading into global financial crisis.
I feel the most obvious sign of the times is the massive and powerfully progressive move towards globalism. When Jesus was here on earth He made it clear to the religious leaders of Israel that they had a problem in that they were failing to discern the times. (Mt.16:2,3)
It's not that long ago that a one-world government was simply beyond any possibility. That is no longer the case. The wheels have been set in motion.
Some feel that globalism is work of the wealthy and powerful elite of the world. This may have some fundamental credibility yet it's important to understand that God is the One who is in control of all things. He told us that there would come a time when authority would be given to one man that would rule over the nations of the world. This is beginning to happen. The process is in place, the wheels are turning and the time will come when the single ruler of the nations will be revealed to be the Antichrist. This has not happened BUT the signs are here. In the not too distant future this will be a reality.
The Apostle Paul said in Rom.13:11-This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is;
time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
(ESV) My personal preference would be to have an optimistic, positive immediate future.
That however is not the case. It would be very wrong to indicate otherwise. There's no
question in my heart and mind that we have entered a time when God's people need to
re-evaluate their personal spiritual priorities and projections. We are entering a period
when we should be "being filled" with the Holy Spirit. (Eph.5:18)
