Introduction

The things that were important to Jesus when He was here on earth are still important to Him today! The whole purpose of Jesus and the cross is the salvation of lost, sin sick souls. Jesus came to seek and save the lost! (Lk.19:10) He left heaven with this purpose! He has great passion for the lost! This is proven by His voluntary substitutional death on the cruel Roman cross! God is not willing that any one perish but that they would all come and receive His salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ! (2 P. 3:9)

Evangelism is simply telling the "Good News" that Jesus saves and whoever wants to, can find forgiveness of sin through Him. The vehicle chosen by God to communicate this incredibly great news to a lost and dying world is you and I. Jesus told His disciples to go into all, the world and preach the Gospel, the Good News to everyone, everywhere! (Mk. 16:15) This preaching of the Gospel to everyone everywhere is known as the "Great Commission"! Christians of each generation have been given the responsibility of reaching everyone everywhere with the message of Jesus' love and forgiveness.

Scripture strongly suggests there will be a lot of spiritual confusion prior to Jesus' return to earth. As the religions of the world merge and seek to find common ground for purpose the purity of the Gospel is one of the first things to be diluted. Regardless of the non-offensive trends, Jesus Christ will always remain God's ONLY WAY of salvation.
Acts 4:12 - There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them." There is only one message that has God's saving power embedded into it, that's the glorious Gospel (the Good News)of the Lord Jesus Christ!

The "Good News" is not only important to know about, it's important to declare and preach to the lost! No other message can be compared in value! Without it people are forever lost and doomed to an eternity permanently separated from God, never free from the power and penalty sin! Only the message of the Gospel brings hope for right relationship with God! That message needs to be told to everyone everywhere!

As we look at the Scriptures, God's great compassionate heart for the lost is exposed! We will be inspire and motivated to evangelism! As we rediscover the spiritual value placed on the Gospel message we will want to reevaluate our priorities to give the Gospel its rightful place of significance in our daily lives. Understanding the importance of this ministry will lead us give it a place of importance in our prayer life. Understanding God's purpose for the Gospel will motivate us to share this life-changing message with those around us. We can fulfill the Great Commission in our generation!
Here's a quote from Charles H. Spurgeon that is worthy of our attention.

If you have never been sought, then you will not seek others; if you have never
tasted that the Lord is gracious, I should not marvel that you neglect this work,
but oh! by the Hell from which you are delivered, by the Heaven to which you
are going, by the blood that redeemed you from death and Hell, by that glorious
Spirit that quickened you and still keeps you alive by every glorious promise that
stimulates you in your onward journey, I pray spend yourself and be spent in
        seeking souls.

Father in heaven, please, give to us the evangelistic heart of Jesus and His passion for lost souls! Grant us the vision, the faith and the courage we need to reach our neighbors, our nation and the nations of the world in our generation with the "Good News". In Jesus name! Amen

Lifestyle Evangelism
It was in February of 1975, at the age of 26 that I personally repented of my sin and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. My background was not of a Christian nature and the method God used to powerfully change my life was the preaching of the Gospel. I therefore find myself believing very strongly in "preaching evangelism".
In this Study I would like you to join me as we look into God's  Word and discover,
or rediscover the power of the preached Gospel, God's method of creating new life..
