INTRODUCTION

Gen.1:1 - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was empty, a formless mass cloaked in darkness. And the Spirit of God was hovering over its surface. 3 Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 And God saw that it was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.

Prior to God speaking forth "light" the earth was cloaked in darkness! After having said' "Let there be light", God saw that it was good. The next action the LORD took is very significant and extremely relevant for our generation in time. NOTE: He separated the light from the darkness.

God drew a clear line of demarcation between light and darkness! We're familiar with the expression, "they're as different as day and night." There are times throughout church history where this distinction has been very clear. At other times, however, the line of demarcation between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness has been anything but clear.

A good Biblical look at the two spiritual kingdoms that are in conflict with each other is an excellent idea for all "New Believers" and it never hurts for veteran Believers to be refreshed in these very important concepts.

God was the One who first separated these two kingdoms and we want to look at this "separation" as He sees it. From what is discover we need to purpose to apply to our everyday living so that the Lord Jesus Christ will be glorified.
Prior to salvation it's quite possible to live oblivious to the fact that there are opposing forces at work on earth. Sometimes even the world speaks about the forces of good and evil. It's not too long after the salvation experience that we become very aware the powers of the spiritual realm. In the first four verses of God's Word we find, in "type", the first reference to "Kingdoms in Conflict".
